The central area is the most varied in Madrid in terms of price and choice of venue. Indeed, there are very few places in the world which rival the streets around Puerta
del Sol for sheer number of places to drink and/or dance. This is Km. 0 (ground zero, more or less) and there is little reason to be selective; jump in and out of different bars until you find the scene you like. All easily reached from Metro Sol.
Nothing like Fellini nor with the Madrid bookstore of the same name. Fridays the Flamingo Club becomes Eight and a Half, where indie-pop and techno is the theme. In spite of the hip-hop avalanche everywhere, pop still has its place. In this case, right in the center of the city.
