In Madrid, a free monthly newspaper - is distributed for free in many English
pubs and some bars. Not prone to underselling themselves - they bill
themselves as "Madrid's English monthly for the Hip, Cool and Transient" and has
many articles about life for English speakers and expatriates in Madrids.
The city government of Madrid distributes a flyer entitled "What's On" that
can be valuable for seeing the larger cultural events. Additionally, En
Madrid, is available at any of the tourist offices in the city and is free.
Our readers tell us that a word that has been confusing for them when they
read about different events at night is the word "madrugada" --this refers to the hours between midnight and dawn. Tres de la madrugada
signifies 3AM.
