Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor

In regards to price and choices for food, the central area of Madrid offers plenty of choices.  The incredible amount of restaurants can be intimidating for tourists -- to be sure of a satisfying meal, follow our recommendations below.  If you are more adventurous, walk around and let your instincts guide you.

One word of caution: there isn't one restaurant on Plaza Mayor that merits anything more than a drink.  Your meals will offer a view, but the quality will remind you of a Lean Cuisine microwave meal.
