Today the club is split in two halves: a dark, moody club ideal for trance and hard house and an airy, verdant atrium-topped terrace where the music has more of a Balearic flavour. Anfora, Ibiza Club,
c/Sant Carles 7, Dalt Vila tel 971 302 893. Set in the heart of Dalt Vila, this is a men-only gay club built into a natural cave in the old town. Attracts a very international, mixed-age crowd with a combination of hard house and camp anthems. Daily May to late-September. Admission around €15.
El Divino, Ibiza Club,
Port d'Eivissa tel 971 190 176, . Across the bay from La Marina, jutting into the harbour waters with superb views of the marina and Ibiza Town from its luxuriant outdoor terrace. Comparatively small - with a capacity of 1000 - El Divino attracts an older, moneyed crowd with garage and US house mixes. Daily mid-June to late-September. Admission €30-45; drinks from €6.
Pacha, Ibiza Club,
Avgda. 8 d'Agost tel 971 313 600, . On the edge of Ibiza Town, around the marina on the Santa Eulària road. The grand dame of the Ibiza clubs, set superbly in a converted white farmhouse, with house and garage in the main room, a techno chamber, a funky room and a salsa salon. Beautiful terrace overlooks the city, there's also a fine restaurant and a new sushi bar. Used by the UK club Ministry of Sound in the summer season. Daily April-end-Sept; Oct-March weekends only. Privilege, Ibiza Club,
off the Ibiza Town/Sant Antoni de Portmany road at Sant Rafel tel 971 198 160, . Formerly known as Ku, this club was the forerunner of the Ibiza scene and is the sole reason why some people come to the island. High up in the hills, this huge, glass-sided and -roofed building has splendid views over the interior. Inside, the club resembles a movie set, with a huge swimming pool in the center of the dance floor, fountains, fourteen bars, a capacity of around 10,000, an outdoor terrace garden, a chillout dome, a café and a main room bedecked with futuristic scaffolding in silver, black and gold. Home to Manumission and Renaissance and used by MTV in the 2001 summer season. Daily mid-June to late September, midnight-7am, and later on special party nights. Admission: €30-48; drinks from €6.
Space, Ibiza Club,
Platja d'en Bossa . Uniquely, this vast club-cum-bunker on the beach is essentially a day club, (opening its doors around 9am) though it's also now starting to promote some night-time dance sessions. Split into two distinct parts: a shadowy, moody interior with pounding techno and trance, and a delightful open-air terrace where DJs play Balearic, and funky house mixes. The most cosmopolitan clubbing crowd in Ibiza gathers for the legendary Sunday session, extended in recent years into a 22 hour carry-on-clubbing marathon. Only for the hardcore. Admission €30-48.
