With its 18 kilometers of beach, Ibiza has something for everybody: ranging from quiet to crowded beaches and from beaches that are calm to the ones that offer the perfect surf breeze. There’s no real surf for wave riding though, but there’s plenty of other activities to keep you busy during the daytime. Every beach and all the beautiful spots on the island, which has only a size of 572 square kilometers, are within the reach of 40 kilometers.
Except for the beaches near Ibiza Town, the south is relatively undiscovered. It’s here you’ll find the more quiet beaches as far as that’s possible for Ibiza. On the north side you’ll find some of the coolest beach-clubs of Europe. Here you can either find your own idyllic quiet spot or continue the party of the previous night when the sun rises again. Beach culture in Ibiza is about just as important as the clubs so be sure to look as sharp as possible. That’s hard enough even on the nudist beaches were clothing is out of fashion, you still have to have a perfect body. Anyway that’s for the lucky few, but you can look your best even if you’re not wearing designer ditties. Be aware of the sun, don’t overdo your tanning or even worse fall asleep in the sun. You might need your back later on.
Playa de Ses Figueretes, Ibiza Beach
This beach, packed with both buildings and people, attracts lots of tourists. Only one motto rules on Ibiza's busiest beach: watch and being watched! The beach is packed with little restaurants and small bars. There are elaborate aquatic sports facilities. Although you don't come over to Ibiza for long walks though untouched forests, Ses Figueretes is rather touristy! We advise you to take the bus to Ses Salinas.
Ses Salinas, Ibiza Beach
The coolest beach of the island. It has a beautiful broad extending beach where you can choose from five beach-bars, all presenting their own sort of modern music. During day-time, the motley party-crowd tries to sleep off its hangover, in order to make it through the next night. When you go further the eastwards, you will see less families but even more party people - wearing bathing suits if anything at all. The view from the bay is absolutely breath-taking. more.
Playa de Talamanca, Ibiza Beach
A long, curved sandy beach borders Talamanca Bay. The waters close to shore are shallow and great for family bathing. Shady areas are sparse, so take coverups. All of the hotels have stunning views of the old town of Ibiza, especially when lit at night.
Playa d'en Bossa, Ibiza Beach
The longest stretch of beach on the island, it is dotted with Bars and Cafés offering a variety of scenes. The clear waters are very shallow near the shore, and the sea floor is almost entirely sand, making it ideal for ballgames. There is little shade so take coverups. Excellent views of D'Alt Vila (the Ibiza Old Town) and close-ups of low flying aircraft. When the south wind blows this beach is very popular with the island's windsurfers, who take advantage of the bump & jump conditions caused by the choppy swell.
Cala Jondal, Ibiza Beach
This conservation area of natural beauty has to be one of the last outposts of paradise. Overlooked only by a few exquisitely architected homes high up on the surrounding green hills, the wide deep beach is dotted here and there with the shade of pines trees before it slopes gently to the glittering, crystal clear waters. Plenty of parking and mooring.
Sa Caleta / Bol Nou Beach, Ibiza Beach
To the east of Cala Jondal and reached by unsurfaced road, with a sign to Restaurant Sa Caleta. Absolutely beautiful sandy beach with very shallow water, making it ideal for families and younger children. Very popular with the locals at the weekend, it can get very full.
Playa Es Cavallet, Ibiza Beach
Official Nude Bathing Beach. Wild and natural, backed by sand dunes and a little green belt of shade and hills. Large breaking waves when the east wind blows near the sandy shoreline. Popular with windsurfers when the wind blows.
